Privacy policy
A disk cleaner reads the most sensitive directory on your computer. This page states exactly what Broomkit does with what it sees.

The short version
Broomkit does not require an account, and never transmits your scan results, file names or file paths anywhere. Scanning happens entirely on your Mac, and the results stay on it.
The app makes two kinds of outbound request, and no others: validating a licence key against Dodo Payments, and an optional once-a-day fetch of a small version file from broomkit.com so it can tell you a newer Broomkit exists. The update check carries no identifier of any kind and can be switched off in Settings. If you never enter a licence key and turn the check off, Broomkit makes no network requests at all.
What stays on your Mac
- Every scan result — categories, sizes, and the full path of every file found
- Your selections, and the history of what you have reclaimed
- The list of applications the Uninstaller has inventoried
- Your licence key, stored locally so the app works offline
None of this is uploaded, and none of it is readable by anyone but you. There is no Broomkit server holding a copy of your disk contents, because there is no Broomkit server.
The two things that leave
When you enter a licence key, the app sends that key to
live.dodopayments.com to confirm it is valid and has not been deactivated
or deactivated. The request contains the licence key and the identifier of the Mac
it is being activated on, so that a licence limited to one or two Macs can be
enforced. It does not contain your name, your files, or your scan results.
A validated licence works offline for 14 days before it needs to check again.
Once a day, if you leave the option on, the app downloads
broomkit.com/downloads/latest.json — a public file listing the current
version number. The request is anonymous: no licence key, no machine identifier, no
cookies. Nothing is installed automatically; if a newer version exists the app shows
a Download button and you decide.
Payment data
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as merchant of record. Card details are entered on their checkout, not on this site, and are never seen by Broomkit or its developer. What is received is confirmation that a licence was issued.
Full Disk Access
Broomkit asks for Full Disk Access because macOS otherwise blocks any app from reading another app's cache and support folders. Without it, the scan can only see a fraction of your disk.
The permission grants reading. It does not create an exception to anything above: the contents are measured, displayed to you, and never sent anywhere. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.
This website
The marketing site at broomkit.com uses the Google tag (Google Ads conversion
tag AW-18426985574) so we can measure ad clicks and purchases.
Google may set or read cookies and receive the page URL, referrer, and a
truncated IP address when you load a page. See

Privacy Policy. This applies to the website only — not to the Mac app.
Other first-party JavaScript on the site switches pricing tables and, on the activate page, hands a licence key to the app. Card details are never entered on this site.
The site also loads Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised page interactions (clicks, scrolling and page paths) so we can see where the pages confuse people. Clarity may set cookies and receives your page URL, referrer and a truncated IP address. See Microsoft’s Privacy Statement. This applies to the website only — not to the Mac app.
Your rights
Because no personal data is collected by the application, there is nothing held about you to access, export or erase. For data held by the payment processor in connection with a purchase, contact hello@broomkit.com and it will be raised with Dodo Payments on your behalf.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your Mac, the change will be dated here and noted in the release that introduces it.
